That Daughter of Mine

Happy Sunday!!!
I couldn’t wait to tell you this story. 
Usually, when you get a text at 4:30 AM in the morning, you panic. 
But, I didn’t panic. It was a voicemail from that Daughter Of Mine. She was explaining how some girl texted her about a guy that she was talking to. I was so excited to call her back. I immediately started in with saying, “Girl, when your Father and I were dating years ago, some girl called me about him.” My Father always said that when someone calls you it’s usually because they are unsure of themselves, and they are just not getting what they want. I went on to tell her that dating is about self discovery, not about who talks to who, and who dates who. It’s about finding out who you are and what you need to add value to your life from a person. It’s about finding out how to also give the best of yourself to someone. I went on to say to her that you have to find the top three things that you are looking for, and you have to be at least three things that you can gift somebody that they would need. That’s my tried and true recipe for long lasting friendships. I also mentioned that my philosophy is not gender specific. I have the same requirements for all of my relationships. When I asked her what her three things were that she would need, that Daughter of mine shocked me. 
She said, “I have to be friends with somebody that is true to themselves. They have to have ambition, and they have to want and know a thing or two about love. I said girl, “I admire you.” She said mom, The only guys that I know that have those qualities are 25, and 26 years old. I said well, I’m 4.5 years older than your Dad. He was looking for the same things so he had to make me a cougar!!! 😂😂😂😂 It was 6 AM before we hung up. She said, I’ve got to go to sleep mom. I have breakfast with one of those older guys in the morning. They like to get up early. I was dying!!! I said wait, “What did you ever say back to the girl that texted you?” She said, I told her what you always taught me to say. You know what your Father always told you? Except, I said it with a twist. I told her,
“ Girl, I saw your picture on Instagram when you asked to follow me, and you’re way too cute to call another woman about a man. I so love that Daughter of mine. Good Morning Sunday!!! It’s so nice to see you♥️
