That daughter of mine told me to dress nicely when I attend her Delta Luncheon. That I needed to represent her at her Delta coming out festivities like a Mother. So, like any fashionable person I tried on several options and decided on none of them. I even thought to put on a top hat to show my style and sophistication. Then it hit me. Delta Sigma Theta was already getting the best that I had to offer. My Phoenix. My most beautiful, intelligent, loving creation. I’m saving my outfit for another occasion. Lunch with a friend, a trip to Home Depot of just for selfies. The best in me is never in my closet. She is proudly walking around Tennessee State University growing into an icon.
