Meet the Roomate of that Daughter of mine. She’s my Daughter too. After all, everyone needs a stand in Mom when theirs is sooo far away. Ani hails from Georgia, Russia. Plays #1 on the Woman’s TSU Team with that daughter of mine, and she’s finishing her first semester of grad school in supply chain management. There are only a few things that I can not do for myself.

1. Laser my hip while having acupuncture.

Sometimes I just want to be vulnerable. I want to need people. On perfect days I would like for those chosen few that I have decided to, “Need,” to actually do what they say they are going to do. You know, be who they say are. Self discoveries are sometimes just windows of realities that we avoid to see. Don’t worry. I’ll do it myself. I’ll get it myself. I’ll take care of it myself. It’s not because your attempt is not appreciated. It’s simply because I still hear my Fathers voice. He’s saying,”Angelia, don’t ask anyone to do something for you that you can do for yourself.” That man is right even from his grave. Oh well, I’ll show you better than I can tell you.

Why is life hard sometimes?
That is what that Daughter Of Mine called and asked me tonight. The answer is always the same. Because we lean on our own understanding. I told her to assume that nothing in life will really ever makes sense. We just make sense of it. I also told her that If you give your worries away every day you can have new ones. That way you won’t get tired of the same old issues. You will have brand new ones at the start of every morning. That’s what I do. I will not allow myself 24 hours to obsess over something that is not in my control. I blink my eyes extremely hard, and I remember a time when something awful happened, and then I think about where I am now. “This too shall pass.” It’s an old saying that most of us have heard all of our lives. 
The irony in that statement rings volumes when bad days come knocking. My Motherly advice ended with this;
Don’t you ever let anyone or anything own your happy or your peace. Men and Woman are built to fail each other. Life doesn’t need to be fair. You do! So, don’t count on the goodness of anyone. Be cute when you’re sad. That way, no one will know what’s happening on the inside. “This too shall pass!” Then, I told her that I loved her and fuck them. Anyone that doesn’t value you, Should be absent of your energy. See you tomorrow darling! cry yourself to sleep, but don’t forget to study. I need my grades. LMAO. It doesn’t matter what color they are. The age is irrelevant. The City, School, Country or even income means nothing. Cold blooded murder is not race related. Clearly, people are bombing others, shooting at Schools, and acting as though we live in the Wild Wild West. It’s just plain sad. Placing blame...That does no good either. I have some good old fashion prayer to offer. With both my hands held high, and my energy placed in the most profound Father, I have to bend my knees every day. No prayer in schools, no PE, no parental responsibility, no faith, no conscious, no belief in anything but self. What the fuck did anyone expect? There is no protection from a world lost in violence and utter disregard to Mankind. There is only prayer. If you don’t believe that then you tell me what the solution is. We can all walk around in silence and blame, “The system,” and lock our doors. You’ll never know who you’re letting in. I’m just going to watch out for all fools. If you act and appear a bit self-destructive, I’m reporting your black, white, whatever color ass to the FBI, CIA, and to my Mommy. She for sure gave me life so I am certain that she will take your ass down - in a nonviolent way of course. On a much brighter note...and you know that’s how I love to end my post. 
Spring has sprung. Go out and plant some flowers. They always remind me of new beginnings and fresh starts. ❤️

Bo Bikes Bama!!

In my mind , it’s almost April. It’s the
time of the year that Flowers start to bloom, and people come out of their winter blues. It’s also the time of the year when I start preparing my mind and body for my annual challenge of Bo Jackson Bikes Bama. It’s a 60 mile bike ride, mostly up hill in the hot Alabama sun that challenges my soul every year. And by the way, I’m proud to say it’s my 5th straight year of sitting on a small seat while coaching myself to maintain a finishing mindset. Every single year I’m faced with challenges. This year, about a good month ago I hurt myself. Last year it was my ankle that was twisted and swollen throughout the entire 60 mile ride. Up until the start of last year’s ride I told myself, and my riding partner, Kya Williams, that I could only do the 20 mile jaunt. At the start of the line, and after seeing a nod from Bo, Lance Armstrong, Bret Farve, and thousands of others, I changed my mind. It was the hardest 60 miles of my life. But... somehow God changes me to endure moments that are greater than I can accomplish on my own. This year is no different. I’ve been battling a hip issue that has me growing gray hair. You see the photo. LMAO. One day I rated my physical state to the Sports Joc as a 4 out of 10. It was the worst my body had ever felt. His stoic remark gave me renewed strength. He simply said, “Just do the 20 miles this year Dear.” He was being kind... after all he notices the gray hair too. LMAO. The devil is a liar. When Bo rides, I ride. I always know that my help is on the way. Happy Day to you❤️ I’m infused by a gospel playlist for my morning ride.“Sometimes you have to encourage yourself. Sometimes you have to speak victory during the test, and no matter how you feel, speak the word over your life and you will be healed. “ let’s ride!!!!

Dear Sunday!

When I picked my mommy up for Sunday brunch, we both had gray hair. LMAO. She said. “ You don’t have anything better to do with your time?” I replied, “Nope !” 
My gray hair has been creeping in so slowly. It’s enough to aggravate me, but not quite enough to confirm my wisdom. So, I’m speeding up the process to see what I would look like with gray hair. I shocked the shit out of my mom with my gray braids. I inherited a lot from my mommy, but she owns the genetic code for white as snow hair. I have the genetic code for change. I purchased my fashion forward blue/gray hair from a Chinese beauty store. But, I own the wisdom of an almost 52 year old. No one can take that away. It would not have happened if you didn’t insist. I was just living life trying to be great, and you stopped me and reminded me that Daughter of Ours needed to have some time with just me. 
We both raised her with an abundant amount of love and life. You have clearly been the best boss for the both of us. We both need you to parent us. That Daughter of ours always looks to me to be her personal/ virtual tour guide in life. Well, I heard you when you reminded me that I should take her away on a vacation. I kept thinking that our life is a vacation. But, you were right. 
She held my hand and talked to me until she fell asleep every night. She hugged me and told me that I was her role model. She even said that she knew for certain that I was going to make it to Heaven one day. That girl even said, “Mommy, you are the only true believer that I have ever met.” I cried myself to sleep; I wept inside the entire trip. I cried tears of joy!
Thank you so much for paying for that Christain High School education. Phoenix even thanked me for choosing you to love. She asked me questions about love, and how to determine why love sometimes ends. I didn’t have all the answers to her life questions, but I assured her that the love of God and self is what matters most. We laughed out loud about boys, what to name her 4 children that she longs for, and about the day when I will not be here for her to love in person. She promised to only keep my big handbags and give the small ones away. I made her promise me, to not let my absence ever be devastating to her soul;
To always be able to let me go with profound respect and honor. I reminded her that she will have to often encourage herself. I told her the truth; That I prayed for her; That I am blessed to be her Mother for as long as the Lord allows. I demanded that she understand that God will always be her present help. You are my hero for never standing in the way of my dream Daughter. You spoil us at an unbelievable rate. Of course, neither one of us is perfect. But, no one; No one will ever be able to say that we were not team players. We never lost our way. There will never be any doubt that we didn’t work together to raise the best of each other for her. Even if no one ever truly understands; I still have to say it; Love is built on respect. Love is a reflection of life choices. Love cannot be transferred. Love is lonely; It is not what two people share; it is what one person chooses to relinquish. Love does not come with rules, regulations, or reasoning. Love rapes one from the intimate freedom of hope, dreams, and certainty sometimes. Love has continuous beginnings and a limitless rebound of endings. Love is a testimony. Love cannot be seen in pictures of people. Love is invisible. Love is a moving target. Love can sometimes manifest itself in pain more than pleasure. Love is a choice; A hard choice. Love is never questioned. Real love has audacity, knows no doubt, worry, jealousy, or finality. It goes on and on. Our love has a name. It is Phoenix. My name is Angelia, and I still choose you. You made it easy, even when it was hard. Love is, and will always be our legacy.

Dear New Year,

“My exit interview form 2017 from me to me.”

I must vow to stop the insanity before I blame everyone around me. Could I have possibly given so much of my love, time, and care to so many last year, that perhaps I may have neglected myself? Did I really work nonstop?

 I know it may not look like it on the outside. After all, the outside of the cover never tells the whole story. 
My mini vacation made me realize that I was exhausted. Both mentally and physically. I let my desires to please everyone around me become bigger than my daily routine of making certain that my energy is replenished. There is this thin line between giving the very best of yourself and being for those you live to love. I think perhaps that I didn’t want to appear selfish. My work life is combined with my personal life. People that work with me are all considered my family. They made broken promises, thought mostly of themselves, and totally forgot that I give until the word sorry becomes their most used word. This is not a warning. This is a new rule; I choose to act like a Saint because being a good example is what gifts me prosperity, favor, and grace. It is what God requires of me. 
But, some have seemed to have lost their way. 
My empathy is my greatest gift, and at the same time my biggest weakness. I can become a soul that feels for those around me, and I start to actually feel their pain, loss, and energy. The other person is a Bitch. 
I’m glad that it rained most of my vacation. I slept and rested all of me. That daughter of mine said that she had not been to bed before 9PM since middle school. LMAO.

Get in place everyone. Change does not compete with words. It evolves. My silence is my weapon of choice. If you feel it. Claim it. It will be my most profound gift to those who feel entitled to make excuses, too many unnecessary mistakes, and lack of thoughtfulness.
